Qualified in major networks, 200 μm fibre is appropriate for both standard proprietary network/communication links. OFS Crimp & Cleave connectors allow field termination of fibre optic cable as easily as copper cable – no epoxy, solvents, polishing or electrical power is required. Terminations can be performed in a wide range of environmental conditions in three minutes or less with minimal training and no consumables. The Crimp & Cleave process yields repeatable, operator-independent, high-quality terminations.

OFS — Avago: Compatible Transmitters, Receivers and 200 μm Fibre Connections The OFS 200 μm HCS System (Fibre/Cable/V-Pin Connectors) is compatible with Avago Technologies’ 650 nm Industrial Optical Fibre Transmitters and Receivers. Major “fieldbus” networks specify 200 μm HCS optical fibre.

For Wider Bandwidth Data Transmission and Communication

For higher data rate networks, OFS has developed HCS optical fibre versions of standard 50 and 62.5 μm fibres. These fibres combine the advantages of high bandwidth standard multimode fibres with a hard polymer coating that enables use of Crimp & Cleave technology. Transmitting 850 nm or 1300 nm signals, they are used in LANs, industrial control links, cross connects, video links and anywhere that 50 or 62.5 μm would normally be used, especially when on-site termination is required.
